The "80th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Cancer Association" was held at Pacifico Yokohama from September 30th to October 2nd, 2021.
At this general meeting, graduate students in the laboratory of Professor Takayuki Yoshimoto of Tokyo Medical University presented their research results.
Professor Yoshimoto is a professor who has been analyzing the functions of Kintaro cells in the industry-academia collaboration with Kintaro Sell's Power. In recent years, cell therapy using mesenchymal stem cells has been actively studied, but since it is an allogeneic cell, the cell is due to concerns such as immune rejection and ethical regulation, as well as the possibility of embolization induction and tumorigenesis promotion.
Cell-free therapy, in which only the culture supernatant is administered without using it, is also being investigated.
This time, when we examined using multiple tumors, we found that the culture supernatant of Kintaro cells rather suppressed tumor growth, and clarified the mechanism of this action.
