What are «KINTARO Cells®»?
«KINTARO Cells®» are multipotent bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells that have the ability to differentiate into cells of various types. Unlike autologous cells derived from adipose tissue, which are taken from the patients to be transplanted back into themselves, we use allogeneic stem cells obtained from young, healthy donors in their 20s.
Autologous cells are still widely used in Japan; however, the mainstream use of cell therapy has already begun to shift to allogeneic cells. Currently, we are expanding our research, development, and manufacturing under the brand «KINTARO Cells®», where our products are cultured using Japan’s advanced culture technology and patented manufacturing.

Only 1 in 100,000 cells in bone marrow fluid are discovered and extracted, making mesenchymal stem cells derived from bone marrow quite rare. Multipotent stem cells «KINTARO Cells®» are extracted by using advanced biotechnology and successful proliferation through patented culture technology.

about
What are «KINTARO Cells®»?
The highest number of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells is found in the human body at the moment of birth. However, the number decreases with age: from 100% at birth to 10% during the teenage years, 4% during a person’s 30s, 2.5% during a person’s 50s, and 0.5% during a person’s 80s. «KINTARO Cells®» are multipotent stem cells that have the effect of supplementing stem cells in an aging body and regenerating cells and organs. «KINTARO Cells®» are obtained and cultured from young, healthy donors in their 20s.

In addition, «KINTARO Cells®» have the CD34- marker that eliminates risks of transferring any disease from a donor. The culture fluid that is approved by the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) meets the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice. This shows that the cultivation is carried out in accordance with international standards.
process
«KINTARO Cells®»
culture process
Allogeneic human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells are cultivated using our patented culturing technology. This process requires advanced biotechnology skills. Only those cultured cells that meet our own strict quality standards become “«KINTARO Cells®».
[1]
Registered donors are carefully selected from young, healthy volunteers in their twenties. Strict screening tests are conducted.
[2]
A 20 ml bone marrow sample is collected from the donor.
[3]
Mesenchymal stem cells are separated from the bone marrow and cultivated in cell culture for around two weeks.
[4]
High-grade quality control is conducted on the purified stem cells, and they are approved as «KINTARO Cells®» only in case they pass our strict quality standards.
[5]
«KINTARO Cells®» can be frozen and stored at −196 °C after cell culturing, allowing their maintenance, shipment, and activation at any time.
[6]
«KINTARO Cells®» have been cultured and maintained with a 75% survival rate in their natural state for 48 hours after activation. This ensures that they can be delivered anywhere globally. They are usually shipped in live conditions.
